The month of September is suicide prevention and awareness month. The American Suicide Prevention Community Walk will take place this Saturday, September 14th at 9 am.
Organizations, mental health practices, businesses, and community members gather at Young Park to commemorate the effects and growing support for suicide prevention as well as hold space for this public health issue. We visit, connect with new friends, and walk a few laps around the pond. The participation has grown over the years with LCPS staff and students participating. Everyone is invited to participate.

LCPS parents,
The district is closely monitoring a social media rumor related to school violence. We want to reassure you that threats made towards our students are taken seriously, and that recent national events are likely contributing to these social media posts.
LCPS is currently working with school resource officers on campus and with local law enforcement, who have determined these threats to be unsubstantiated.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our schools safe.
